Fortune 500 companies around the world have trusted GemDB for decades to power their mission-critical systems. Shouldn’t you?

“Everything you can think of in a life insurance company that we could digitize and automate we put into GemDB.”
Trusted where the stakes are highest.

Here’s the difference.
Agentic coding is driving changes faster than ever before. Typical databases can’t keep up and slow down your team. GemDB accelerates your path to production because your code and your data are the same.

GemDB overview
GemDB is a transactional object database.
Objects, including their classes and methods, live in the database. Application code runs in the same engine that holds the data, so there is no translation layer between the two.
One model for code and data.
The class definition is the schema. Python objects are persisted as-is, with no row/column or JSON mapping.
Full ACID transactions.
Developers create objects, then call gemdb.commit(). A commit writes everything reachable from the committed objects, so a whole object graph persists atomically. Nothing is committed automatically, and abort discards uncommitted changes.
Schema evolution is a code change.
Changes are made in code, with migration functions embedded in the classes. There’s no need for external migration scripts and no coordinated downtime across dev, test and production.
Python runs inside the database.
GemDB compiles Python modules and classes into GemDB as native objects, so Python runs in the same object space as the data.
Agent- and human-friendly.
GemDB Code is a free VS Code extension with a built-in Jupyter notebook, an MCP server for natural-language queries, a skills file for coding agents, and the Brain Freeze Insurance sample app.
